Are you a student or recent grad looking to build your resume? Do you want to help low-income families keep more of what they earn? Then join a community of over 200 caring volunteers helping low-income families access life-stabilizing tax credits at free tax clinics throughout the Portland Metro Area. Not only will you help boost low-wage earners out of poverty, but you’ll also gain lifelong tax knowledge and have the opportunity to network with a diverse group of working professionals from many different fields.

Not a tax expert? No problem! There are volunteer roles for all interests, plus MFS CASH Oregon provides training and ongoing support.

To be a great volunteer, you just need to be:

  • 18 years old or older
  • Comfortable working with a diverse group of clients
  • Willing to ask questions
  • Willing to learn new skills

Off season tax preparation opportunities available May 2nd-October 28th.

Requirements

Must complete the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program Advanced certification. Training and support provided.
