SAGE's Vision 2030 Team offers education for middle school students about the Portland and Multnomah County climate goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent from 1990 levels by the year 2030.

Do you enjoy working with middle school students? If so, join us as a Climate Solutions Educator or Climate Solutions Facilitator to inform students about our region’s 2030 climate goal, the solutions in our region’s Climate Action Plan, and relevant workforce opportunities.

Requirements

We are looking for people who: 
• Relate easily and enjoy working with middle school students. 
• Are knowledgeable about climate change challenges and solutions. 
• Are competent presenting information in person. 
• Are available 5-15 hours per month in the winter and spring to: 
▪ Support lessons on climate solutions to middle school classes. 
▪ Support other volunteers to facilitate learning stations at school fairs.

Very flexible time commitment. We ask each volunteer to devote 5-15 hours a month to present to classes or at fairs in the winter and spring (typically January to May). We provide an orientation to the Vision 2030 team and closely review with you our materials. We also provide hands-on support to prepare. Candidates will complete a background check prior to serving as a volunteer.
