Food Pantry Volunteer Interest Form (PSU Smallwood Food Pantry)

Interested in volunteering at the Portland State University Smallwood Food Pantry? Fill out our interest form! After filling out this interest form, a staff member will reach out via e-mail with more information about available shifts. 

We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers who are passionate about increasing food security within their community. 

Volunteers can expect to: 

• Stock food on shelves
• Maintain a clean and organized pantry environment 
• Greet patrons at the front desk
• Lift and unload boxes from pallets 
• Label and repackage donations
• Miscellaneous tasks such as cutting out ingredient labels or finding recipes 

Volunteer Policies: 

• Volunteers are expected to commit to volunteering from the beginning of the term through finals week. Once you sign-up for your preferred shift, you will automatically be signed up for that shift every week through the end of the term.
• For new volunteers, training must be completed prior to starting your first shift.  

(Depending on the shift, volunteers may be asked to unload and lift boxes which can weigh up to 50 lbs. If you have concerns about heavy lifting, please note that in the accommodations section.)
