Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp (MHKC) empowers children and adults with developmental disabilities through equitable access to the outdoors and recreation. Located on 22 acres in the Mt. Hood National Forest, MHKC offers eight weeks of traditional overnight summer camp with accessible and adaptable programming enabling all campers to participate. Campers enjoy activities such as rock climbing, ziplining, horses, swimming, biking, fishing, arts & crafts, hiking, karaoke, dancing, and more. MHKC is a one-of-a-kind camp, providing a 1:1 camper-to-counselor ratio made possible by the dedication of over 200 college-credit and volunteer counselors. Counselors spend 1-2 weeks up on the mountain, and with guidance from experienced staff, support campers with their activities of daily living and having a safe, meaningful, and FUN time at Camp.
